Paul Timmins, Managing Director of AIS had the pleasure of meeting the HRH Duke of Edinburgh (Patron of Shakespeares Globe) at the opening of the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse on the 19th November 2013.

The new 320 seat playhouse was a very unique project with many challenging design objectives to keep it as authentic to the Jacobean theatre timber origins with candle light performances and balancing the requirements of today's fire and safety regulations. This included smoke and evacuation modelling and supported by a very robust management strategy.

When you visit look at the hand painted ceiling and find the emergency lighting hidden in the clouds and the opening smoke vent doors !
