New Housing Standards announced for introduction into the Building Regulations. The new requirements cover house security and waste storage 'bin blight' with optional standards for higher levels of dwelling accessibility and  water efficiency. A draft national dwelling space standard has also been developed and although not proposed to be in the scope of the Regulations validation of its compliance is suggested to be by building control bodies.
