The Building Control Process

  1. Design Stage: We assess initial drawings and basic concepts to ensure that the principles of the work comply with the Building Regulations. Where pre-application advice is sought, we will also consult the relevant statutory bodies, such as the Fire Authority and Water Authority.
  2. Application Submission: We collate all information for submission (as per our New Application Checklist), with the Initial Notice, to the Local Authority.
  3. Plans Checking: We ensure that all plans comply with the Regulations and carry out a Statutory Consultation with the Fire Authority.
  4. Site Inspections: We observe progress on site, with a pre-planned and agreed inspection framework identifying and resolving any issues that may arise during construction .
  5. Completion: We issue a Final Certificate, confirming that the finished project complies with the Building Regulations.
