The Building Regulations and Building Control approval process cover many building types, however, construction projects carried out on Railway or Underground Stations, Airport Terminals and other very unique buildings may be exempted under the Building Act 1984. Alternative standards and approval processes have been developed for these building types and are generally termed as Compliance or Assurance Approvals.
