Emirates Air Line

The Emirates Air Line is the UK’s first urban cable car with a capacity to carry up to 2,500 passengers per hour in each direction via 32 cable cars.  It is a vital part of the regeneration of east London,  providing a much needed Thames  river crossing connecting North Greenwich to the Royal Docks and access to all the visitor attractions.

The development involved construction of two cable car station terminals Greenwich Penisula and Royal Docks and three new steel uniquely designed towers. The inside of these unique  towers are a complex helix like structure which has been specially designed to provide the strength and stability needed to transport thousands of passengers every hour.
